New Microchip Cat Flap 
I first heard about Pet Porte microchip cat flaps from an online friend and searched online for where to buy them. I found that the microchip cat flaps website was very informative, simple, and attractive - helped me to make the decision to buy one for my cats. The microchip cat flap arrived within 7 days which I thought was an acceptable time to wait for an online purchase. I notice since ordering that the website now offers next day delivery when the cat flaps are in stock.
Everything was packaged carefully and within minutes I had it set up and scanning our cats to program them in. This was before fitting it in the door! I showed my kitties and cats how it works by pushing a teddy bear through the door, then tempting the cats through with treats. This naturally didn’t work. Cats being cats decided that they would try it in their own good time.
The first one to go through was actually the one that is usually the most timid and up until then we had been letting them out the door by opening it my self. I could see that he loved the new found freedom! My other cat was a little more cautious but within a couple of days he was going out and coming back in again more often! They soon learned that the door unlocks when their head goes under the sensor. The beep confirmation helps them to know the door is unlocked and then the push the door open with their paws.
It’s lovely to watch how they use the transparent door as their own “window”, looking out onto the garden, before deciding to go outside then it’s a mad scramble of paws and the door opens. I keep trying to show them how easy it is to simply push the door open but they seem to love pawing at the door repeatedly until it opens.
At night they did wonder why the door locked. I explained that the door is locked because it’s in night mode. I decided to use the night mode because my neighbor has a dog which they let out at night. Plus I love their company in front of the fire in the evening. Lately I have been letting them out on the odd occasion but they always come back into the warm again. Since getting the Pet Porte microchip catflaps I have noticed that our cats are visibly more contented, happier (you can tell by their smiles!), and they really enjoy the freedom of being able to come and go as they please.
